Sarah: New York Fashion Diary

Hello New York City! Here are some of my fave moments I captured from my east coast escapades during my adventures to the Phantom of the Opera, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Time Square, and shopping 5th and Madison Avenue.  Seeing the New York street trends was so inspiring and I wish I could bundle up in California everyday like I could in NYC!

Double Take

Wearing: Hudson jeans, DVF blouse, Valentino Bag, and Sam Edelman heels

 

Denim trends are always continuing to evolve and a new trend you will start to see this season is two-toned jeans. These Hudson's instantly caught my eye because I literally did a double take when walking past them. I thought to myself, "What a cute white jean!" Then I passed them a second time, realizing that the back was black. These jeans are the perfect spring pant and are right on trend - black and white is everywhere right now. Black and white on its own is perfection, but adding color can totally change the look! I love how this feminine DVF top brings some softness to the jeans and the red was a perfect color to have fun with accessorizing.

Janae: Black and Blue

This fun and flirty number has everything you need to stand out - this vibrant cobalt hue looks fantastic on everyone and the "fit and flare" dress is a huge trend for spring!You can easily transition this look from day to night by pairing it with flat sandals for day and then throw on a leather jacket and studded heels for night. Did you see that this Kenna-T Leather jacket zips into a vest - it's 2 looks in one! A leather jacket adds instant cool and is one of my top 10 must-have wardrobe staples. I love the details in this jacket, especially the quilted shoulder which adds an edgier look. I love playing with feminine silhouettes and toughening a look up with edgier pieces like a Moto jacket and chunky accessories to stand out.

Justine: There's Still Time for a Valentine

I had way too much fun putting together all of my top Valentine's Day gifts...there are so many goodies on my wishlist right now! Whether you need a gift for mom, girlfriends, or some ideas to point your man in the right direction (I totally just sent this to my husband haha), this list has something for everyone. Sarah: Orange You Glad

While playing dress up on a daily basis what I look forward to each morning, sometimes it is refreshing to throw on a casual chic outfit. A boxy sweater, skinny jeans, and booties are my reliable go-to pieces. After five months of dark wash denim, I love to spice up my spring wardrobe with a light wash skinny. Then to top off the coral sweater, turquoise accessories are an unexpected pop of color. My medium size cross-body bag is perfect for running around on a busy day. Always remember that being casual and effortless doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your personal style!

Justine: There's Something About a Dress...

There is something about a well-fitting ladylike dress that just makes a girl feel pretty. I love how from the front, this Alice + Olivia dress is feminine and even a little bit conservative but then the daring, low back makes such a statement! I couldn't help adding the faux leather vest to give the look some edge and to contrast against the softness of the dress. 

Stylist tip: If you find a dress that fits amazing, buy it! Even if you don't have an event to wear it to yet, you'll be so thankful to have it in your closet when you get that invitation!

Sarah: Not-So-Mellow Yellow

Primary colors are going to be all the rage for spring this year. These blue and yellow pieces were the perfect offset to make a flattering, balanced, yet show stopping outfit. What is so amazing about this color combo is blue plus yellow makes green, hence, the green clutch! Even though this forest hue isn't anywhere else in the outfit, the color blends just work! I always think about creating a color palette that blends and compliments eachother instead of thinking that everything has to match perfectly...mix it up!
